Percentage of the number of foreign students studying in Polish higher education institutions in the total number of population in that age group – calculated in %.
Higher education institutions (tertiary education) operate according to the Higher Education Law dated 27 July 2005 (Journal of Laws No. 164, item 1365 with later amendments). Education is realised in public and non-public higher education institutions, on first-, second- or long-cycle programmes in the form of full-time studies and part-time studies.
Students of higher education institutions are persons entered to the students registers in higher education institutions, including students having completed the last year of studies without passing the final exam and those benefiting from a dean's leave. Foreign students are persons who intending to study in Poland at least one academic year.
Students of higher education institutions are indicated as of 30 November, according to the actual location of the university / organisational unit (as for 2012 without organizational units of Polish higher education institutions operating abroad, which were formerly shown in the place of location of parent high education institution). Data since 2012, including academies of the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Internal and Administration.
