Advice provided – a service provided in an outpatient setting, including at home by a doctor, dentist or psychologist.
Outpatient health care involves healthcare services provided by service providers to people who do not require treatment in 24-hour or all-day conditions. Guaranteed services in the scope of outpatient specialist care are provided in specialist clinics in cases resulting from the health condition (also at the patient's home) by a doctor with appropriate qualifications or by another person who is authorized to provide specialist services.
Guaranteed services include diagnostic and therapeutic activities (including testing of collected biological material) to the extent necessary to provide the service in accordance with current medical knowledge.
Guaranteed services are provided in the case of: - specialist advice, - diagnostic tests, - outpatient surgical procedures, - chemotherapy services, - other outpatient services.
The service provider provides the patient with the following free of charge to the extent necessary to provide guaranteed services: - diagnostic tests; - medicines and medical devices.
Outpatient specialist services are provided on the basis of a referral issued by a health insurance physician.
A referral is not required for services provided by: - a gynaecologist and obstetrician, - a dentist, - a venereologist, - an oncologist, - a psychiatrist, and in the case of: - people with tuberculosis, - people infected with HIV, - war and military invalids, repressed persons and war veterans, - blind civilian victims of warfare; - people addicted to alcohol, narcotics and psychotropic substances - in the scope of addiction treatment; - eligible soldiers, in the scope of treatment of injuries or diseases acquired while performing tasks outside the country; - injured veterans, in the scope of treatment of injuries or diseases acquired while performing tasks outside the country.
