Sustainable Development Goal
Goal 8. Decent work and economic growth
8.6 By 2020, substantially reduce the proportion of youth not in employment, education or training
Percentage of people aged 15-24 who are not employed and do not participate in further education and training.
Indicator’s numerator refers to those who meet two conditions: Are not employed (i.e. are unemployed or economically inactive), Did not participate in any form of education during four weeks preceding the survey.
Indicator’s denominator is a population in a given age group, which the indicator concerns, excluding persons who did not answer to the question concerning “participation in regular education and training.”
The indicator is compiled by Eurostat on the basis of the quarterly Labour Force Survey (LFS) in Poland.
The survey is carried out using the method of continuous observation (moveable survey week). In each of 13 weeks of quarter, 1/13 part of quarterly sample of housing is surveyed.
A surveyed week begins on Monday and ends on Sunday, while a surveyed quarter refers to a calendar quarter.
For the purposes of presentation of annual data, a calculation of annual averages from quarterly data is used.
