Methodological explanations
Railway station adapted to serve disabled people – a building structure together with related construction equipment that provides the necessary conditions for use by disabled people, in particular those using wheelchairs, e.g. equipped with facilities for access to and exit from buildings, lifting equipment, stairs and ramps (Act of 7 July 1994 – Building Law, Journal of Laws of 2017, item 1332, as amended) and the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure of 12 April 2002 on the technical conditions that should be met by buildings and their location (Journal of Laws of 2015, item 1422). In practice, it is a facility with facilities for the movement of disabled people within the station (e.g. assistance service, sign language service, common ticket offices for all carriers, devices supporting movement with limited mobility, adapted toilets), platforms, underpasses, footbridges and other communication routes (e.g. lifts, platforms, horizontal markings).
