Methodological explanations
Geodetic Area of the Country - Information on the geodetic status and directions of use of the country's surface based on the land and building records kept by the Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography (as of January 1).
Population size - the number of people (total or according to specific features) residing in a given territory at a given time (as of January 1) resulting from the population balance.
The most commonly used status is:
1) at the end of each year, i.e. on December 31,
2) at mid-year, i.e. on June 30. The average population status in the year under review is the status at mid-year. The average population status can also be calculated as the arithmetic mean of the population status at the beginning and end of the period under review (in practice, the status at the beginning of the period is the status at the end of the previous period).
