Methodological explanations
The gas network is a system of conduits providing gas fuels to consumers by companies operating in the field of gas transmission and distribution. The wiring system distinguishes between: • transmission and distribution network (for high-methane and nitrogen-rich gas) – street cables intended to supply gas to buildings or other facilities via connections, • connections – a system of wires connecting the distribution network with buildings and other facilities.
Data on gas users concern the population in dwellings equipped with gas installations from the grid.
An apartment equipped with gas supply from the network is considered to be an apartment in which there are installations (including reception devices located in the apartment) supplying gas from active connections.
Among the users of gas there are: - using gas on the basis of a contract - households consuming gas on the basis of an individual contract with an energy company, - using gas without a contract - households consuming gas without a contract with an energy company (collective agreements concluded between a cooperative or community and an energy company).
Data on the number of gaseous fuel customers come from entities holding a gas sales license and are based on the number of contracts signed with gas customers from the network.
