Methodological explanations
The data come from the representative Population Economic Activity Survey (LFS), conducted in a quarterly cycle using the continuous observation method (moving week of the survey), which allows to illustrate the situation on the labour market throughout the quarter. The survey covers people aged 15-89 who are members of households in randomly selected apartments. Outside the scope of the survey are members of households staying (the total duration of actual and planned stay is taken into account) 12 months or more abroad and in collective households (such as: employee hotels, student houses, dormitories, social care homes, etc.) and homeless people.
The basic criterion for the division of the population from the point of view of occupational activity is work, i.e. the fact of performing, owning or looking for a job. According to international standards, the general population can be divided into three basic categories: employed, unemployed and inactive. The employed and unemployed are the economically active population.
The indicator includes people aged 18-24 with at most lower secondary education from all three categories (working, unemployed, inactive) who continued their education in the formal or non-formal education system during the period under review.

Notes
Since the first quarter of 2018, the way of asking questions about participation in training/education outside the formal education system has been changed, therefore the indicators in calculation of which the non-formal education is taken into account, are not fully comparable with results from previous 2021 years.
Since 2023, generalisation of the survey results over the general population has been carried out with the use of the data on resident population of Poland living in households coming from the balances compiled on the basis of the Population and Housing Census 2021/National Census 2021. Data for 2021-2022 were compiled in accordance with the new basis for generalisation of results. Due to the changes introduced, LFS results are not fully comparable with results from previous 2021 years.
