Methodological explanations
Technical secondary school 4-year schools (for Lower secondary school, until the 2018/2019 school year) or 5-year schools (for primary school graduates, from the 2019/2020 school year), leading to the award of a vocational diploma upon passing vocational examination in a given occupation and the award of the secondary school matriculation certificate (after passing the matriculation examination).
Vocational education takes place in the professions specified in the Regulation of the Minister of National Education of 15 February 2019 on the classification of vocational education professions (Journal of Laws of 2019, No. U. item 316, as amended).
In the 2019/20-2022 / 23 school years, 4-year sections for lower-secondary school graduates operated within technical secondary schools.
Data on teachers concern teachers (including teachers of religion) employed in the implementation of existing educational activities, i.e. without after-school educators and librarians conducting only extra-curricular activities, etc. Only part-time related to the obligation to teach (without duties related to the function of educator, conducting extracurricular activities, due to the managerial function, etc.) was included.
Data on teachers refer to full-time and part-time employees in terms of full-time employees. Full-time or part-time status has been assigned to all teachers regardless of the form of employment (e.g. also in the case of persons working under a contract of mandate or a contract for specific work).

The reform of the education system, which began on 1 September, 2017, introduced an 8-year primary school and ultimately abolished lower secondary school and introduced a 4-year general secondary school, a 5-year technical secondary school, a 3-year Stage I sectoral vocational school, a Stage II sectoral vocational school.
This reform has had an impact on the scope of the data presented, including the number of school graduates at different levels of education.
