Morbidity is the frequency of new cases of a disease in a studied population.
Hepatitis C is an infectious disease caused by the Hepatitis C Virus (HCV). The HCV virus is found in the blood and other tissues of an infected person. Infection occurs through contact with infected blood in the event of a break in the continuity of the tissues, e.g. a puncture, a cut in the skin or mucous membrane, or contact with objects that have been contaminated with infected blood.
