Spa treatment includes hospitals and sanatoriums operating in the spa area, using primarily the properties of natural medicinal resources and the healing properties of the climate in the areas where they are located in treatment, rehabilitation and prevention.
Patients of inpatient treatment (stationary treatment) are people who use 24-hour medical and nursing care in stationary health care facilities, i.e. spa hospitals, spa sanatoriums and preventive care facilities.
A spa hospital is a spa treatment facility whose tasks include providing a patient who has been referred for spa treatment or spa rehabilitation with: 1) 24-hour health care services in stationary conditions; 2) 24-hour medical and nursing care; 3) procedures provided for in the treatment program; 4) use of natural medicinal resources and spa treatment facilities 5) health education.
In addition, a health resort sanatorium for children providing health care services to persons subject to compulsory schooling and education is obliged to provide care services and conditions for teaching and upbringing. The types of diseases for which the sanatorium is intended to treat are established by its regulations.
