Methodological explanations
A hospital is a medical facility of a medical entity or a separate organizational unit of a medical facility in which the entity performs medical activities such as stationary and 24-hour hospital health services, excluding medical facilities of entities providing only services with the intention of completing them within a period not exceeding 24 hours (one-day hospitals).
The data does not include day hospital activities. Until 2011, the data on general hospitals did not include entities for which the founding body was the Minister of National Defense, the Minister of Justice (prisons) and the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration. Since 2012, the data on general hospitals include facilities of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration, but does not include hospitals in prisons (Ministry of Justice).
