Innovatively active enterprise - an enterprise at some time during the observation period in one or more activities aimed at developing or implementing new or improved products or business processes for their intended use. It also covers companies engaged in R&D (research and development), regardless of its purpose.
Cluster - according to the definition of M. E. Porter is a geographical cluster of interconnected companies, specialized suppliers, service providers, companies operating in related sectors and related institutions (e.g. universities, standardisation bodies, trade associations and financial institutions) in individual fields, competing with each other, but also cooperating. For the purposes of innovation research, a cluster initiative is understood as cooperation links formally established on the basis of a letter of intent, association agreement, consortium formation agreement, etc.
