Methodological explanations
The non-profit sector is a group of entities that meet the following conditions: - are formalized to an appropriate degree (e.g. as a result of registration with the appropriate office), or at least their goals, method of operation and structure are of a permanent nature, - are institutionally separate from public administration, - are non-profit (they operate not for profit and do not distribute any surplus among their members, employees, etc.), - are self-governing (the authorities and directions of action are determined within the organization), - are characterized by voluntary participation in the organization's activities.
Members of non-profit organizations are natural or legal persons (e.g. other organizations, business entities or institutions) associated in these organizations.
