Stationary social welfare institution is a facility that provides 24-hour care to people who require it due to age, illness or disability.
Stationary social welfare institutions include the following types of facilities: - nursing homes, - family nursing home, - facilities providing round-the-clock care to the disabled, chronically ill or elderly as part of business or statutory activity, - community self-help houses or other support centres for people with mental disorders, - homes for mothers with minor children and pregnant women, - night shelters, - shelters for the homeless.
