Children up to the age of 17 for whom parents receive a family benefit in the form of a family allowance on the basis of the Act of 28 November 2003 on family benefits (Journal of Laws of 2006 No. 139, as amended). The child benefit is intended to partially cover the expenses for maintaining a child. Granting the right to family allowance depends, m.in on meeting the family income criterion.
