Goal 16 - Peace and justice - strong institutions

The data are derived from the survey Information Society Indicators, which is a sample-based survey conducted using direct interview methods, with voluntary participation. The survey is carried out in April each year. In accordance with requirements specified in European Commission regulations, the survey covers households (with at least one person aged 16–74) located throughout the entire country, as well as all individuals aged 16–74 within those households. The survey does not cover persons living in collective living quarters, such as student dormitories, workers’ hostels, social welfare homes, religious institutions, hospitals, military barracks, prisons, and similar establishments. Foreign nationals may participate in the survey provided that they have sufficient knowledge of the Polish language.

The concept of ‘public administration’ refers both to institutions providing public services and to those performing administrative functions. These include, inter alia, tax authorities, customs authorities, registration authorities (e.g. the National Court Register (KRS) and the National Official Business Register (REGON)), social security institutions (e.g. the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS)), public healthcare institutions (e.g. the National Health Fund (NFZ) and hospitals), environmental protection authorities, and other public-sector bodies. Public administration is classified at local, regional, and national levels.

Internet-based interaction with public administration includes, inter alia, searching for information on websites, downloading official forms, and submitting completed forms (excluding unsolicited or manually composed email communication).
